Extensions take you further still, and the right choice depends on your natural nails and your weeks, which your technician will talk through honestly before starting.

How long sets last, and refills
Gel holds its shine two to three weeks; acrylic sets grow out rather than wear out, with refills every two to three weeks keeping the line clean at the cuticle. Between visits, oil the cuticles and wear gloves for rough work, and the set repays you. When it is time, removal is done properly in the chair.
Choosing a shape
Almond flatters most hands and survives real life; square reads clean and modern on shorter lengths; coffin needs length and a little commitment. Your technician will match the shape to your nail beds and your weeks, because the most beautiful set is the one still intact a fortnight later.
